Green Impact

Engage your organization's community on sustainability!
Green Impact is a change and engagement program that encourages people to take simple actions on socio-economic and environmental issues at work, on campus and at home.

Green Impact is a program designed to foster environmentally and socially sustainable practice within organizations. Through a bespoke online toolkit and tailored support, the program promotes staff engagement and student leadership to create behavior change.

With Green Impact, you motivate colleagues and peers to implement concrete actions on sustainability. Together, you work towards environmental and socio-economic goals in a structured manner. At the same time, you raise awareness on sustainability issues.

Green Impact is highly adaptable to fit your organization’s context. A modular toolkit offers your community tangible and relevant actions to transition to a more sustainable future. SOS International supports you throughout the whole Green Impact program. We provide professional support, accredited training and years of experience.

Our current programs engage people to take action on campus, in the office, in the lab, at home, in the homeworking environment and in student dorms. All toolkit actions and support is tailormade to fit each organization’s unique context, ambitions and requirements. The program is also available for non-education sectors, such as health organizations or the public sector worldwide. Find specific case studies on this website or get in touch.

14+ years of Green Impact

The Green Impact program was developed by the National Union of Students in the UK (NUS, now operating as SOS-UK) in 2008 and has since spread around the world. Today, the program is active in more than 200 organizations in 6 countries, and across a wide range of sectors. SOS International currently delivers Green Impact in the Netherlands, Belgium and France, and is looking to expand to more countries. Our partner organizations SOS-UK and ACTS deliver the program in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In 2016, Green Impact was awarded the UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development.

There is commendable demonstration of impact and wide uptake, and the project is an exemplar of youth leadership in educational change.

Our collective impact

We are proud and thankful to collaborate with a local delivery team at each of these institutions. Find our collective impact, good practices and examples of actions below.
